The Common Denominator

There is no doubt of the importance that Health & Safety has in all our lives. The glass industry has always been a "forward looking" industry and has a commendable record in this area.

It is hoped that we will be able to provide you with the latest information through these pages and we welcome any contributions that our Centre's and partners wish to make.

GQA H&S On Line Test

Health and Safety

Every GQA NVQ and SVQ starts with the Health & Safety Unit. This link to safe working practices is carried through every other Unit where the emphasis on safety ensures that the candidates not only know what is expected of them, but carry out that knowledge to ensure that they work in a safe manner that not only respects their needs but also those of others working with them or in their vicinity.

Plans

We plan to include on line testing on this site to allow candidates to test and eventually confirm their knowledge of this very important subject. Any comments, contributions or anything at all that you want to see on this site, please contact us by clicking here.

Specialist H&S Training

Apart from the general H&S issues affecting our industry we will also cater for the specialised knowledge required in certain sections of our industry.

  • Building site safety
  • Glass containers
  • Float glass production
  • Automotive
  • Curtain walling

to name but a few
