The Assessment Process

The GQA Booklet

Every candidate for a GQA NVQ or SVQ qualification is issued with a booklet specific to that qualification. This booklet is meant to be a "working document" and you and your assessor are encouraged to write in it.

Whose who in NVQ/SVQ?

Well, you'll be pleased to hear that the most important person is the Candidate who has to provide evidence that they can meet the National Standards.

The Assessor

Must be occupationally competent and have a recognised Assessment Qualification. They must also be registered by GQA for the centre they work at.

The Internal Verifier

Their job is to carry out the necessary quality checks at the centre, they too should be occupationally competent, hold a recognised Internal Verification qualification, and be licensed for the centre by GQA.

The External Verifier

Represents the Awarding Body (GQA) and makes sure that the centre complies with its duties.

GQA

The Glass Qualifications Authority

The Awarding Body for all glass related industries.

Proskills

The Standards Setting Body for the industry along with GGF and GTL for some qualifications.

QCA & SQA

The Regulatory Bodies.
